Best Time to Visit
Sri Lanka has two monsoon seasons affecting different coasts. December-March is ideal for the south and west coasts (Mirissa, Unawatuna, Hikkaduwa) with dry weather, calm seas, and whale watching season. April-September is best for the east coast (Arugam Bay, Trincomalee) with consistent surf and sunny weather. The hill country can be visited year-round. November tends to see rain across most of the island.
